Loads

The term bearing load originates from structural analysis. It generally stands for the absolute load limit of an undefined static system. In connection with shelving, the following load types are of particular importance:

The shelf load is the maximum load that can be applied to a shelf or an individual shelf. The prerequisite for this is that the loads are evenly distributed.

The bay load is the maximum load-bearing capacity of a shelving bay. It depends on the frames and levels used. It should be noted that the sum of the individual shelf loads must not exceed the bay load.
