Shelving and customized storage solution for FONTLINE

At the new location in Berlin-Schönefeld, Benjamin Scheper and his FONTLINE team create large-format advertising worlds for a wide range of applications. The setting for this is creativity in craftsmanship, modern machinery, a spacious production hall and shelving from TOPREGAL.

Born in Berlin, he is the managing director of FONTLINE Werbung & Beschriftung GmbH. The company, which specializes in the production of advertising spaces and vehicle wrapping, moved to Bohnsdorf near Schönefeld Airport in spring 2018. The old company headquarters in Neukölln was simply bursting at the seams due to the good order situation. Now FONTLINE is using over 1,000 square meters, four times as much space.

"If we don't use the space properly from the start, it will end in chaos." Managing Director Benjamin Scheper is certain of this. Timo Munz, TOPREGAL customer consultant for northern Germany and Berlin, can confirm this: "The companies are initially so impressed by the size that they initially forgo proper warehousing, including an inventory management system. By the second year at the latest, however, they realize that they also need to use the height in order to continue growing. TOPREGAL offers the right shelving and customized storage solutions for this. Because FONTLINE is growing. A few weeks ago, Benjamin Scheper and his team of currently twelve advertising, graphics and digital printing specialists won a tender from Messe Berlin GmbH. This promises new orders in new formats.

Customized according to customer requirements

"I simply googled it," is Scheper's answer to the question of how he came across a shelf retailer from Filderstadt near Stuttgart in Berlin. At first, he was on the website of a Berlin supplier. But he only lasted what felt like 90 seconds there because he couldn't find what he wanted. On TOPREGAL on the other hand, Scheper found the exact shelf, including accessories for assembly, as a complete offer with a final price. And it was also significantly lower than what he had actually calculated. In addition to a pallet rack and a cantilever rack for the required rolls, profiles and panels, FONTLINE uses a mobile mobile work table/packing table which TOPREGAL has specially assembled.

"During the planning phase, I already had a clear idea of what the offices and warehouse at our new location should look like." As Benjamin Scheper points out, FONTLINE has very few trading partners and suppliers. This also applies to TOPREGAL. The reason for this was a classic situation in advertising and PR agencies: on Friday, you realize that a big shoot for a major client, including a film crew for the making-of, is due to take place next Monday. But the warehouse is still full of pallets, boxes and other odds and ends. So a shelf is needed - and as quickly as possible.

TOPREGAL - and this sets the company apart from many of its competitors - always has large quantities of all shelving units in stock so that it can fulfill rush orders with immediate collection from one of its warehouses at any time. Benjamin Scheper was very impressed: "I can't remember how, but it all worked". The delivery was shipped to Berlin on Friday, arrived on Saturday and was assembled on Sunday. Just in time, in other words. When the trucks to be wrapped and the film team drove into the warehouse on Monday, everything looked perfect. "The customer and the film team didn't notice a thing," emphasizes Scheper.

Benjamin Scheper founded FONTLINE Werbung & Beschriftung GmbH in Berlin in 2002. The company specializes in the production/manufacture of advertising technology, digital printing, vehicle lettering and event and trade fair construction. Among its well-known customers is Daimler AG, including the 'Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin'. After the old location in Berlin-Schöneberg became too small, FONTLINE moved to the immediate vicinity of Schönefeld Airport at the beginning of 2018.
