Load Shield

A load plate or shelf load sticker provides information about the permissible shelf load and the maximum bay load of heavy-duty shelving in the operating environment. This applies in particular to storage racks, pallet racking or cantilever racking with a shelf load of over 200kg and a bay load of more than 1000kg. This information obligation applies to fixed shelving as well as to mobile shelving or mobile cabinets.

The guideline of the German Social Accident Insurance DGUV 208-061, DIN EN 15512 and DIN EN 15635 stipulate that a load plate must provide information about Manufacturer or dealer, model type, year of manufacture, the permissible shelf and bay load and, in the case of cantilever racking, the upright load (one-sided/double-sided) and the arm load.

We recommend attaching a load plate to every third to fourth upright so that it is clearly visible to employees and external visitors. If the shelving is assembled without attaching load signs, this will be noted during the next shelf inspection will be complained about. However, a missing load sign alone is not sufficient reason to block the shelving. Instead, the operator is required to comply with his obligation to provide information by affixing the load signs within a few weeks.

Load signs always included
