Efficiency in Action: SWM30 Supports Malteser in Langenfeld
The Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. is one of the largest relief organizations in Germany and has been active for many years in a wide variety of areas of civil protection and social assistance. At its Langenfeld location, the Malteser also makes an important contribution to disaster response in North Rhine-Westphalia. As one of a total of 241 response units, 66 volunteer responders are active here to provide rapid assistance in emergencies.
Their areas of operation are diverse: from large-scale incidents such as multiple-vehicle collisions or train accidents to assisting people during evacuations and providing medical care. The volunteers are also regularly called upon to respond to natural disasters such as floods or storm damage, as well as to assist refugees. “Our work covers a wide range of areas. We’re on the scene wherever people need help,” explains Christian Nitz, a volunteer with the Malteser in Langenfeld.
Support That Makes a Difference
Shortly before Christmas, the organization reached out to TOPREGAL with a personal letter. This sparked the idea to give the Malteser a belated Christmas gift. At the start of the new year, TOPREGAL donated one of its demonstration units, an SWM30 scrubber-dryer. “We were very pleased with the support. As an organization that relies heavily on volunteers, we really depend on this kind of help,” says Christian Nitz.
To meet the high demands of emergency operations, the on-site infrastructure also plays an important role. This includes, among other things, the emergency center’s vehicle bay, where emergency vehicles are maintained and prepared for their next deployment. This is exactly where the SWM30 scrubber-dryer donated by TOPREGAL comes into play.
Efficient Cleaning in Day-to-Day Operations
Previously, the garage was cleaned the traditional way—by hand or with hand-guided sweepers. The new machine has significantly improved the cleaning process. “The biggest advantage for us is clearly the wet cleaning. Dust and diesel soot, in particular, can be removed much more effectively than before,” reports Christian Nitz.
The machine also impresses in daily use: Operation is intuitive and self-explanatory, so no extensive training was necessary. “It was easy to use right from the start. Our volunteers were able to use the machine immediately, without lengthy training.”
With the SWM30, TOPREGAL not only ensures clean floors but also supports the Malteser in Langenfeld in continuing their important work under optimal conditions. Ultimately, a clean and well-maintained vehicle garage helps ensure that emergency responders can focus entirely on what matters most: providing fast and effective assistance to people in need.
