Groundbreaking ceremony in the new Berlin-Szczecin industrial park: family-owned TOPREGAL settles in Pasewalk

Pasewalk, 09.07.2021. The first investor in the new Berlin-Szczecin Industrial Park is the family-owned company TOPREGAL GmbH, which operates throughout Europe. The company, headquartered in Filderstadt near Stuttgart, produces and sells shelving systems for commercial storage and products for factory equipment. At the new location in Pasewalk, production, repairs, storage and shipping to Northern and Eastern Europe will take place in the future on a total of 20,000 square meters.

"The new industrial area is very well located in terms of transport and strategy - both to serve the north-eastern part of the republic and Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. That's why we decided to build a completely new company location here according to our wishes and ideas. With 30 new jobs in the areas of warehousing, logistics and administration to start with, we will be able to provide additional support for the local structure," says Jürgen Effner, company owner of TOPREGAL GmbH.

TOPREGAL has commissioned the construction and service company GOLDBECK with the planning and construction of the new logistics and production hall. By April 2022, the general contractor will realize a total of four halls with 5,000 square meters of floor space each as well as an adjoining office building including social rooms for TOPREGAL on the 55,000 square meter site.

GOLDBECK is known throughout Europe for building with a system. The company pre-produces essential building elements, including supporting structures, ceilings and walls, in its own factories and delivers them "just in sequence" to the construction site. On site, the system elements are then assembled into turnkey commercial buildings. Volker Huber, head of the GOLDBECK branch in Rostock, explained the advantages of this construction method at today's groundbreaking ceremony as follows: "The establishment of TOPREGAL as the first construction project in the new industrial park Berlin-Szczecin has lighthouse character. In just ten months, we will transform the vacant lot into a turnkey logistics and production hall that will hopefully quickly convince numerous other companies of the advantages of the location. Another advantage - both for TOPREGAL and for the environment: thanks to the systematized construction method, we will be able to save a considerable part of the resources and emissions that are usually generated. A 550 kWp photovoltaic system including buffer storage and 20 e-charging points additionally contribute to sustainable site development."

Finally, building owner Jürgen Effner used the official groundbreaking ceremony as an opportunity to thank all those involved for their excellent cooperation: "Corona did not make the planning of this building project any easier. Many of those involved, including the GOLDBECK project team and 30 other people, we are meeting in person for the first time today. But despite all the circumstances, we have felt very well advised at all times and warmly welcomed in Pasewalk. My thanks therefore go to Mayor Sandra Nachtweih and the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Health, the Vorpommern-Greifswald Promotion and Development Company as well as GOLDBECK and all other partners involved in the construction. I am sure the next ten months will be just as cooperative and successful and I look forward to further cooperation."
