For an overview from above

To maximise the utilisation of warehouse space, the ceiling height is usually at least 10 metres from the underside of the beam upwards, with even small structures reaching 6 metres. "This is highly recommended for loading with high racks and storage areas," says Jürgen Effner, Managing Director of TOPREGAL GmbH, and explains: "However, especially in the storage areas of logistics centres or warehouse buildings located on a large company site, it is helpful to create additional rooms or levels within the halls with mezzanine floors to gain further work areas or storage space."

Stay on top with mezzanine floors

Additional mezzanine floors within large factory or warehouse halls offer a wide range of benefits. Firstly, they create additional, easily accessible storage space for small or lightweight goods. Secondly, they can serve as material storage, for order picking, or, equipped with a suitable prefab office, as additional office workplaces above the hall floor. The resulting intermediate floor and separation from the rest of the hall can, depending on the design, be acoustically advantageous for meetings. Additionally, the elevated position provides a good overview of the entire hall, which can be helpful for monitoring all processes in a factory hall..

Perfectly fitted

Instead of complicated planning and long waiting times, TOPREGAL offers mezzanines floors for easy self-configuration or as three predefined modules in the online ordering process. The expert in warehouse and industrial equipment was the first company 15 years ago to offer heavy-duty shelving units that could be easily configured online. The concept was successful. Shortly after introducing heavy-duty shelving, the provider also included mezzanine floors made from modular prefabricated stage elements according to EUROCODE / FEM guidelines in its range, which it has been selling for over ten years. The platforms range from standard configurations in rectangle, U-shaped, or L-shaped forms with fixed dimensions to completely customised solutions tailored to individual requirements. "Our basic model is, for example, 2.50 metres high, 4 metres wide, and 5.30 metres deep," says Effner. The system supports are made of robust Sendzimir-galvanised structural steel, and the level can be loaded with 500 kg/m² in the basic model. Depending on the design, the mezzanine floor can withstand loads from 250 to 1,000 kg/m². For the choice of decking, galvanised mesh, chequer plate, or chipboard in natural wood colours or white with 38 millimetres are available. For easy access to the mezzanine floor, TOPREGAL offers suitable stairs, which can be equipped with a landing platform on request. Equipped with handrails and knee rails as well as a kickplate at the bottom to prevent accidental stepping off, they offer a high level of safety in everyday work. To quickly load and unload the upper level with goods, a transfer station can be integrated on the platform. The transfer via double-wing door meets current safety guidelines for handling on mezzanines. Thanks to the modular design of the mezzanines, it is always possible to adapt, expand, or freely reposition them as requirements change.
