Transport & lifting

Get your business moving – TOPREGAL transport equipment leads the way.

Transport equipment is a standard part of business equipment because goods, materials and smaller items constantly have to be moved from A to B during everyday operations. Much can of course be carried by hand, but a little assistance makes sense when larger quantities are involved. There is suitable transport equipment for practically every area of a business. Whether you use a transport trolley or an electric lifting device depends on the size, volume and weight of the load to be moved. Heavy goods in particular should not be carried over long distances using muscle power alone. They should be placed on a transport trolley or, for especially heavy materials, on a pallet truck and transported safely. This protects employees' backs while reducing the risk of accidents.

Transport equipment in the warehouse

The warehouse is the classic application area for transport equipment. Storing and retrieving goods is its core business, whether it is a smaller warehouse with heavy-duty shelving for files, boxes and smaller materials or a high-bay warehouse filled with heavy-duty racking as far as the eye can see. In the first case, you may need a ladder to reach goods stored at higher levels and a platform trolley for their subsequent transport.

In larger warehouses equipped with pallet racking pallet trucks are generally used, particularly in the lower rack sections, to drive directly beneath a pallet, raise it and transport the stored goods. Electric pallet trucks are often used for quickly unloading goods at the loading bay. Modern electric forklifts are used for particularly heavy goods and are considered especially environmentally friendly. They also operate quietly, creating a more pleasant working atmosphere. If drums or bottles are handled in the warehouse, special bottle trolleys or drum dollies are particularly suitable because they are adapted to these specific shapes.

Transport equipment in the office

Offices also depend on helpful transport equipment. How else would drinks for a meeting be delivered safely to the conference table or heavier post be distributed to employees? A warehouse or platform trolley is ideal for distributing post. A folding transport trolley can also be stored out of the way to save space when it is not needed. Smaller platform trolleys and hand trolleys are also frequently used to transport copier paper. For catering, stainless-steel shelf trolleys are generally used as serving trolleys. Stainless steel not only looks attractive; its smooth surface is also very easy to clean, so it is widely used for transporting food for hygiene reasons.

Which materials and tyres are suitable for which application?

As already mentioned, stainless steel is frequently used for transporting food or for shelving used to store food. Transport equipment made from this steel combines a low phosphorus and sulphur content with a high chromium content, giving it corrosion-resistant, rustproof properties. Durable materials are also required in warehouses because equipment may occasionally be exposed to rain. High-visibility colours are recommended so that trolleys can be seen clearly. Most transport equipment for warehouse use is therefore available in distinctive colours. Blue has become established for lifting equipment, so TOPREGAL also uses this colour: unless otherwise specified, our trolleys are made from powder-coated tubular steel in RAL 5007 (brilliant blue).

There are also differences between the wheels and castors fitted to our transport equipment, with each type selected for its intended use and location. Hard castors are generally used on soft floors and soft castors on hard floors to protect the floor surface. Solid-rubber tyres are especially durable compared with pneumatic tyres, as pneumatic tyres can unfortunately develop punctures over time. Pneumatic tyres, however, are considerably quieter in use.
