Vacuum lifting device for efficient panel handling with a forklift truck

The vacuum lifter VSH400/4 from SolidHub enables the safe and controlled handling of large-format panels and workpieces with a forklift. The vacuum lifter is slid onto the fork tines through the integrated 190 mm x 90 mm forklift pockets and then securely bolted in place. A professional vacuum lifting system is therefore ready for use within a few minutes, without requiring modifications to the forklift.

With dimensions of 1.575 mm x 1.073 mm x 656 mm, the vacuum lifter can be integrated into a wide range of working environments. It has a net weight of 247 kg and a maximum load capacity of 400 kg. This makes the system suitable for demanding lifting and transport tasks involving large-format workpieces.

Safe handling of different panel materials

The integrated compressor supplies 4 suction cups made of Silicone with a constant working pressure of -0,7 bar and a pumping capacity of 45 l/min.. Each suction cup has a diameter of 300 mm and contributes to secure workpiece pick-up through even distribution of force.

The vacuum lifter is suitable for handling glass, wood, plastic and metal panels. Vacuum-tight materials benefit from high holding force. In addition, slightly porous materials and surfaces with minor unevenness can also be picked up reliably. This allows the system to be used for different materials and applications.

Tilting, swivelling and rotating for precise positioning

The picked-up load can be tilted electrically by 90 °, allowing workpieces to be moved from a horizontal to a vertical position or vice versa. The manual swivel function through 180 ° additionally allows the load to be aligned sideways. For precise positioning, the workpiece can also be manually rotated by 360 ° around its own axis. The load can be locked in different positions,  which makes handling easy.

These adjustment options are particularly useful for assembly work and for loading and unloading large or bulky components. Workpieces can be positioned in a controlled and precise manner even where space is restricted.

Mains-independent operation with batteries

The vacuum lifter operates independently of the mains and is powered by two maintenance-free lead-acid batteries. Each battery has a voltage of 12 V. The battery system has a rated capacity of 20 Ah, providing an operating time of 6 - 7 h.

After use, the batteries are fully charged within 6 - 7 h.

Monitoring the vacuum and battery status

An easy-to-read pressure gauge provides continuous information about the current negative pressure and allows the vacuum to be monitored throughout the entire work process.

An integrated battery charge indicator also shows the current charge level of the batteries. To ensure full suction performance, the charge level should be checked before each use and the device fully charged if necessary.

Charging is carried out via a standard 50 Hz / 230 V socket. No special charging infrastructure is required. The maintenance-free lead-acid batteries ensure reliable operation in daily use.

• Material handling in manufacturing: Transporting metal, wood, plastic and glass panels between storage areas, processing machines and assembly workstations.
• Handling solar panels: Material-friendly pick-up, safe transport and precise alignment of sensitive solar panels. The even distribution of force across the suction cups supports gentle handling.
• Logistics and warehousing: Picking, relocating and loading individual panels and large-format workpieces as part of internal material flow.
• Metal, wood and plastic processing: Moving heavy or large-format workpieces, feeding machines and transporting materials between production stages.
• Façade and element construction: Safe handling and precise positioning of façade panels, composite elements and other large-format components during assembly.

The attachment is not suitable for high-lift pallet trucks; it is designed for forklifts. Before purchasing, please check whether the attachment is compatible with your forklift (fork tine cross-section up to max. 190 mm x 90 mm).
