Collision protection and rack-impact protection – more than a legal obligation
Every year, thousands of accidents occur in warehouses and production areas while manoeuvring a forklift or pallet truck – despite every effort to prevent them. Legislation therefore sets out clear requirements for securing stationary racks and defines inspection intervals. These requirements can be found in DIN EN 15635 and DGUV Rule 208-061. These are German requirements; the applicable local requirements must be checked. Heavy-duty racks such as cantilever racks, shelving units and wide-span racks must undergo regular rack inspections in accordance with these requirements. Checking the rack for damage is an important part of every inspection. Collision protection and rack-impact protection help prevent this type of damage from occurring in the first place.
Collision protection protects people, racks and materials
Steel collision guards are the most popular form of rack-impact protection for preventing damage to load-bearing upright frames. They are exceptionally robust and do not necessarily need to be replaced immediately after a collision. Their conspicuous yellow-and-black signal colours also provide an important visual warning, helping protect racks and buildings against collision damage and scratches. Weather-resistant paint makes steel impact protection suitable for outdoor use as well.

Mandatory annual rack inspections

We will be happy to prepare a suitable quotation and carry out the inspection on site. Minor defects can be repaired directly. On completion, you receive an inspection report, while the rack receives an inspection label showing the next due date.
