Pallet racks from TOPREGAL for Xucker

Under the XUCKER brand, the Berlin-based company of the same name sells natural sweeteners without remorse. The sweet treats are stored on TOPREGAL pallet racks until they are shipped to nutrition-conscious customers throughout Germany.

A sweet treasure is hidden in the warehouse buildings in Berlin-Schöneberg, which are inconspicuous from the outside. This is where Xucker GmbH has rented its company headquarters with three interconnected warehouses and a total area of around 2,400 square meters. Around 50 tons of xylitol and erythritol and the products made with them are stored here. What sounds like chemistry and a laboratory are sugar alternatives that are increasingly replacing classic granulated sugar throughout Germany and Europe as "Xucker Basic", "Xucker Premium" or "Xucker Light - Besser süß"."We sell around 40 percent of the sugar alternatives produced by fermentation to private customers, while around 60 percent go directly to resellers without intermediate storage," explains Managing Director Christian D. Weiten.

Xucker is already listed at dm, Rossmann and Edeka. In the order picking department, the employees reach into the boxes on the 2.5 m high storage shelves. This is how they put together the orders from the online store. In the two adjoining halls, in the actual warehouse, there are five and six double rows of TOPREGAL pallet racking, each 15 m long.

We became aware of the Filderstadt-based shelving retailer "through Internet research," says Patrizia Rouba, assistant to the Xucker management, looking back. For the assembly of the pallet racking, Xucker used the assembly service from TOPREGAL to assemble the pallet racks. "It all worked very well. You could see straight away that the three fitters had done this many times before, they were so well-rehearsed and focused as they assembled the 330 meters of pallet racking in total." The racking specialist from Filderstadt not only has a large number of different heavy-duty racking in its product portfolio. The assembly service and the annual racking inspection are also included. TOPREGAL arranged for a Berlin engineering firm to carry out the obligatory annual inspection of the racking at Xucker.

Since its foundation in May 2010, Xucker GmbH has developed into the largest mail order company for xylitol and xylitol-containing products, such as gelling xylitol and chocolate, in Germany. Since June 2011, the range has also included erythritol as "Xucker Light". The company employs around 35 people (2018) and generates annual sales totaling 11.7 million euros (2017).
